How do owners with multiple units vote?

Learn how voting and attendance work for owners representing multiple units.

Overview Multi-unit owners are individuals who own or represent more than one unit. Depending on how their accounts are configured within the system, their voting and attendance experience differs.

Consolidated Units

If an owner’s units are consolidated, the system accounts for all of them as one.

  • Voting: The owner votes once. This single vote applies to all units they own, whether submitted in advance or during the live Meeting.

  • Attendance: When the owner joins the Meeting, they appear as a single attendee in the video interface (e.g., Zoom).

  • Quorum: Although they appear as one person, the system automatically calculates the correct number of units they represent for quorum totals.

Note: Currently, owners cannot view the specific number of units they represent on the voting screen, but the system records the weight accurately.

Unconsolidated Units

If an owner’s units are not consolidated, the system treats each unit as a separate entity.

  • Voting: The owner must vote separately for each unit. They receive individual email links for each unit owned.

  • Attendance: When the owner joins the Meeting, they appear as a single attendee in the video interface (e.g., Zoom).
  • Quorum: The system will ensure all of their units are accounted for in the attendance counts, as long as the email for each individual unit is the same.

Common Questions

Do consolidated owners need to join multiple times to count for quorum? No. They only need to join once. The system tracks their total unit count in the back-end for accurate voting and quorum reporting.

How do unconsolidated owners vote during a live Meeting? They must use the unique join link or voting email sent for each unit. They cannot cast a single vote to cover all units.
