What are the requirements for preparing a 1st Notice?
Understand the required documents and key guidelines for assembling your association's 1st Notice package.
Overview
The 1st Notice package alerts owners of an upcoming Meeting and provides them with initial candidate and governance materials. This guide outlines the essential components required for a complete 1st Notice submission.
Required Documents
Your 1st Notice package must include the following materials:
- 1st Notice Information: The primary informational letter detailing the upcoming Meeting.
- Intent to Run Form: The application or notice form for candidates who wish to run for the board.
- Voting Certificate: (If applicable) The form used to designate a voting representative for a unit.
- Supplemental Documents: Any additional materials or disclosures your association wishes to share with the ownership at this stage.
Package Guidelines
When assembling your package, ensure you follow these operational constraints:
- Legal Compliance: Always consult your governing documents and your association’s attorney to verify the exact notice requirements specific to your association.
- Zoom Links: If GetQuorum is providing the Zoom link for your virtual Meeting, do not include a Zoom link anywhere in your submitted package.
Note: Including external or premature virtual meeting links can cause technical confusion for owners attempting to register or join the Meeting.
